Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match Pipe Tobacco

Sutliff Match Victoria is a ribbon cut VaPer which seeks to match the now discontinued Murray’s Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture. No comparison between the two will be forthcoming here, as my taste in VaPer’s have always run to flakes (in the past, McClelland 2015, more recently, Gawith & Hoggarth Louisiana Flake). But, on its own merits, I can say that Sutliff Match Victoria is a very nice blend of Virginias with a good dose of Perique yielding a well-behaved, tasty, medium-strength smoke which burns cool and dry. Upon lighting up, the tobacco is initially spicy but quickly quiets down to reveal citrus, leather, some sweetness, and, later, earthy elements. No harshness or bite.
