The Potlatch is a gift-giving ceremony synonymous with the Pacific Northwest United States and Canadian shore and was the inspired for this Seattle Pipe Club tobacco. A complex mix of flavors and tobacco is what makes this blend so special. If you enjoy the different, the diverse, and the delicious, then you should give Potlatch a try.

Delicious but extremely dry. Five or six puffs and a bowl is ash.

    Solid blend

I enjoyed the Latakia being integrated with the other flavors effectively. The complexity of the blend was pleasing and the strength was just right.

    It’s tasty

Great mix of flavors. It’s not a Latakia bomb. All tobacco flavors are present and equally presented. A great smoke. I’ll stick back a few cans in the cellar.

    SPC Potlatch

This tobacco has, so far, lived up to the other reviews. It is strong but not overwhelming, good balance of flavors. I'm not experienced enough to detail the different tobacco's used and their distinct attributes, but it is not harsh, does not burn too hot or bite, has a great draw, asserts itself without kicking you down. Maybe too strong for an all-day anytime smoke, but perfect to end the evening on the back porch unwinding from the day.

Nice medium to light English blend, but not dynamic enough for me.

This is not a bad tobacco but after all the hype about complexity, I found it to be just average. OK, but won't buy again.

    Definitely different

This is the first SPC blend I have tried ("Plum Pudding" is waiting in the wings). This is an excellent blend obviously crafted by a true master blender (Joe Lankford). I am a big fan of Greg Pease's blends and many of the Cornell and Diehl blends. I am also partial to the Frog Morton series. Now, having said all that, I'll say that Potlatch is just as good as any tobacco I've tried. I like Latakia a lot, in moderation, and I just love Virginias and burleys together. I could go into the different flavors Potlatch presents, fruity this and tangy that, blah, blah, blah. And this blend IS quite complex. But the bottom line here is that the stuff really tastes and smells delicious! It is definitely different due, I think, to the variety of tobaccos used. Obviously, it is the proportions that matter with this blend and that make it so unique in my experience. This is NOT an aromatic, in my opinion. It's not a Balkan type, either. English? Maybe, but unlike any English style blend I've ever had so far. Truly different and just plain tasty! Get some. I hope Plum Pudding is this good. Enjoy!
