Gallopin Gertie
Ordered a can of this stuff to put in my stocking from Santa last Christmas. Just opened it and I’m in love. Sweet. Spicy. Complex. I haven’t tasted red Virginia's like this since McClelland went out of business, and the perique level is perfect.. Just ordered more to cellar.

Galloping Gertie
Another thoroughly enjoyable tobacco by SPC. Breaks apart easily and needs very little drying time, very tasty blend not for everyday but once in awhile to enjoy.

The tartness was off putting
Right out of the tin this blend had a tartness that I was not used to. I couldn't really get into it. It may cellar well, but I don't think I will buy it again.

good blend
This is a very good blend. Similar to SPC's other flake/plug blends, it has a nice mellowness before the richer flavors take hold later in the bowl. At first, there is a lot of citrus and bread, followed by darker sweet flavors of semi-sweet chocolate and molasses? I can pick out main flavors in a blend but I am just a fellow Enthusiast so you may find more types of flavors than I.. I do load a bowl and let it sit for a time which always makes the tobacco burn well once lit, but does need to be relit more if you leave large chunks during rubout but the flavor experience is worth leaving a few minor chunks to add intensity. Overall this blend should be suitable for any level of pipe Enthusiast. Very flavorful, high-quality leaf blend, a light-medium power level allows a full bowl without becoming too overwhelming.
