**Manufacture Change: Lightly Vacuum Sealed with Plastic Seal On Tin**
Samuel Gawith Squadron Leader is one of those almost-perfect tobacco blends that every fan of English blends should keep a stock of. It’s medium-bodied, smooth and easy to smoke, while still giving enough strength to satisfy. This blend won’t knock you out, but it will knock your socks off -- the perfect balance in our humble opinion.

mild but does have a bite
Will skip it in future. Rather expensive and not as good as Navy cut gold.

Worth the wait!
Finally! This is one of those elusive blends that for whatever reason I couldn't ever get my hands on. Was thrilled to finally pick some up. Lived up to the hype for sure. If you like english blends that are mild enough for all day puffing this checks the box. More subtle than Nightcap or Maltese Falcon but still flavorful. Hoping to find more and keep in my rotation.

Squadron Leader
Wonderful tobacco. Very difficult to find so I suggest when it is available that you "jump" on a tin...or two! Mr. Pete-------------> aging hippie

S. Gawith Squadron Leader
First time smoking this blend. You know it's not always available here in the U. S. I bought two 250 gram boxes. Inside the box, the tobacco is sealed in a ziplock bag, so jar it up. I'm glad I got two boxes! This stuff is delicious! I'm very partial to Va/Pers and straight Virginias, and English blends are 3rd or 4th down my list. However, Squadron Leader is a great example of the quintessential English/Balkan blend. Very fragrant, just slightly sweet, lots of smoky Latakia (but not TOO much). Very well-balanced and very easy to light and smoke. My favourite English by far! Get some whenever you can.

Squadron Leader
Excellent tobacco. Medium strength English you can smoke all day. I don't smoke in the house or around the wife, so I can't recommend either. Always enjoy going fishing and having a couple of pipes full of Squadron Leader and a good cup of coffee. Highly recommended. Give it a try if you haven't. You won't be sorry.

One of the best all day Balkan/English blends ever
I’ve smoked a lot of different blends and have all the good stuff. I hadn’t had Squadron Leader until a few months ago. I bought a few tins and after just a few bowls, I bought another 10 ounces. This is good stuff right out of the tin. I can only imagine it gets better with age. Comes a bit damp but 5-10 min of drying is good enough. Ribbon cut with some pretty long strands. Packs and smokes great though. Not Latakia forward. A good mix of orientals, lats and Virginia. Similar to Balkan Sobranie and MM965.

This English is truly as wonderful as its reputation and reviews state. Well worth staying alert for it availability.

I love this tobacco, plain and simple. It’s always a super smooth, mellow smoke. I try to buy a tin whenever I make a purchase, to age for later. I don’t think you can go wrong with this one!
