Smooth and Tasty
A well balanced blend that hits all the right points for me. A great daytime smoke with a hint of natural fruit-ish notes but just a hint. Smokes best when completely dried. I ended up drying the entire tin on a tray then returning it to the tin. The tin note, whether pre-dried or post-dried is very nice. Love to get a big whiff of it before lighting my pipe. I have been very well pleased with Rattray's line, of note, Hal O The Wynd, and Marlin Flake, though Black Mallory was a bit too harsh with the smoke notes for my taste.

Rattray’s Red Rapparee
This is a robust blend with a complex flavor profile. From what I can discern the Latakia is noticeable but not overpowering. It seems to be well balanced, no particular flavor outshines another. I see that some consider this a Scottish blend which makes it a first for me. I may be alone in this but I swear I get a hint of liquor in the smoke. Definitely worth trying for yourself.

a fave
A really good English type smoke. Not to strong . Not harsh. No bite when you don't over do it. Really good flavor and top quality.

Do yourself a Favor!
Hands down, my favorite English blend. I smoke this every morning, and it never gets old.Quite a complex blend! Definitely not a Lat-bomb, but the Latakia makes its presence known. It is oriental-forward, and the red Virginias give it a yummy bready-ness. The Cavendish rounds it out with a nice, natural sweetness; it sounds like it wouldn't work well, but it absolutely does! If you like a good medium English, but are tired of all the cookie-cutter blends, get some Red Rap!

Quintessential Scottish Blend
This, along with Black Mallory, is top shelf, iconic Scottish Mixture. I love it in the 500g bags!

Red fade
This tobacco is still quite good, ( The caveat ) BUT, it’s not the same as it was in days of yore. I hear that so much with so many things. All that aside, don’t miss this blend. DO NOT MISS THIS BLEND! The finest blend with a dram or more of Scotch Whisky. Smoky, leathery, smooth. AMAZING.

Blended to Perfection
Orientals take the lead (which I prefer), Latakia gives it spice, Black Cavendish adds cream & smoothness and Virginia’s are bright and add some snap. RR is a perfect Scottish Blend. If you were to alter the components in any way you would take away the magic. A masterpiece.

One of my Absolute Favorites
Set this out to dry until just on the verge of crispy, load into a wide bowl pipe (7/8" diameter is the sweet spot for me), and enjoy a flavor burst of sour spice with a rich base of smoke and tangy red Virginia. Beautiful stuff and consistent tin after tin.
