Old Gowrie 4
This might just be my favorite briar so far. Smokes great with both balsa filters and charcoal filters. There are some minor finish flaws, the notch on the hole at the mouthpiece looks like whoever made it had to do a double-take. There’s kind of a weird step in there. The sandblast is light but has a nice feel, the stem tenon slides on and out smoothly with no worry of breaking, and she smokes like a champ! A nice ample sized bowl provides a good amount of smoke time. It’s a great pipe for the price. I’m definitely considering acquiring another in the old Gowrie line.

My number 4
This is one of my three O.G.‘s. The draw and workmanship of this 9mm filter pipe is excellent! I smoke all of my non aromatics in this pipe and they taste great every time. Nice thick walls, so if you puff fast or sip slow you will be very happy with handling characteristics of this unit. Nice rustic finish. Weighted perfect. Rattrays pipes are One of life’s simple pleasures.

Hard to beat a Rattray's.
This pipe has a nice open draw, larger than the average chamber, and is big enough to be comfortable but still light enough to be clenched briefly. I use this pipe for GLPease English blends and all of them smoke cool and smooth in this pipe. I have three Old Gowrie pipes and I can't decide which one I like best.
