To add a very smoky, slightly tangy, and rich flavored taste to this Rattray's blend, a steep portion of Dark Fired Kentucky tobacco has been sprinkled into this blend. Other than this, the Hal O' Wynd mixture is a straightforward but delicious Virginia/Perique style tobacco. We suggest smoking this tobacco in a pot shaped or stubby shaped tobacco but, but any will do just fine.

Spiced Cake
Amazing flavors when dried and smoked at a good pace. Starts with bread and anise, then opens to a malty sweetness, finishes strong. Even when it does not deliver all the way with the flavors it has a bready sweetness, and when it does deliver it forces you to stop and ponder how such a delicious flavor could exist. Happy piping.

Hal O' the Wynd pipe tobacco
Nice, sweet, grassy Virginias with a little hint of fruitiness from the perique, and just a little campfire background hint from the Kentucky. Great for building the cake, too!

My Desert Island Blend
I think I found one of my absolute favorite tobaccos of all time!!! Beautiful smoke! Mellow and creamy flavorful smoke with absolutely no bite or harshness whatsoever. A gorgeous broken flake of medium brown and red Virginias with a few light specs here and there. Its a bit wet right from the tin, but still ready to go. Lighting takes a bit to get it rolling but behaves wonderfully after that. Flavors of sweet red Virginia take full and center stage. Not overly complex flavors and doesn't take a lot of contemplation. Flavors of bread, sweet but subdued fruit, dark and rich sweetness but not cloying, along with slight hints of hay and tangy tartness come through. Not much if any spice at all with a few citrus notes. No bite even with the occasional hard and fast puffing. The flavor remains extremely consistent throughout the bowl and just the right amount of N. I can't emphasize enough how mellow (not in flavor) this tobacco is. There is zero harshness even on the retro-hale. This will be one of my all day, everyday smokes....absolutely a delight!! Heaven! This is my 'desert island' blend (as some other reviewers have put it). Pipe Used: Cob & Billard Age When Smoked: 6 months aged
