A straight forward blend
I enjoyed this blend more than I expected. I smoked this in my briar and in my cob, and I highly recommend this tobacco to be smoked from a cob. This blend is pretty simple and a good choice for beginners. There isn't much going on when it comes to complexity. The sweetness is present from the Virginia and the burley adds some nuttiness. I don't get any bite from this whatsoever, and I found the blend to be pretty mild. I plan on aging some in a jar for a while to see what will become of this blend. I've tried other Peterson tobaccos such as Old Dublin and Hyde Park, and, while I like these blends better, Sherlock Holmes is still worth every penny. It's simple and quite nice after a long day of work

Excellent Flavor and Tecture
I generally smoke a mild tobacco. Sherlock Holmes is relatively strong (4 on a scale of 5) but offers a smooth, clean smoke with no bite and plenty of flavor. A good, strong tobacco.

With some age, a fine smoke
When i first popped the tin on this i was not super impressed. It certainly wasn't bad, but just wasn't going to be a more frequented tobacco for me. I put it in a mason jar and avoided it for almost 4 years. Now, it is an aromatic, which would scare most for having that much age...but i swear, this has turned into an every week blend for me. The topping smoothed out a ton and really has created a very well balanced blend. I smoke this every Saturday morning now. I would highly recommend the blend. And, I'm not much of an aromatic smoker by the way. But, the virginias are absolutely pleasant in this w/ the topping. Truly. Pop the tin right away and throw it in a mason jar to age for a while. It'll be worth your time.
