The Peterson Flake, formally known as the Dunhill Flake, is one of, if not the most recognizable flake tobacco in production. Made from a straight pressed Virginia leaf combination (made of lemon and bronze Virginia), the amount of flavor present in one small bowl is legendary. While we suggest smoking this tobacco as soon as you receive it, we also suggest ordering a few extra tins and putting them in the cellar. This medium strength sweet Virginia is going to age exceptionally well.

Delicious virginia
Not too sweet. Right in the middle. Delicious and grassy. Easy to load and light. Just simple straight Virginia.

Just as good as the original
I swear this had a bit of age on the tobacco. I wonder if this is old stock under the new name.

Its smooth
Not really my favorite but it is a smooth smoke. My favorite straight Virginia is ultimately Briar Fox right now. The Dunhill is a bit on the bland side but it is smooth enough to smoke all day. I will say that I have two tins of this I am aging so maybe after letting it sit for 10-15 years it will be a ton better?! That is what I am going with. It is a good flake to age.

Fine Virginias in flakes
This is one of the best straight Virginias on the market. With a mild and pleasant nose and smoke and room note. Highly recommended. Try it even you are an English blend or aromatic smoker. This is real tobacco.

Dunhill Flake a Great All Dat Smoke
One of my favorites. I can smoke this one all day and enjoy every bowl. Sad that it has gone out of production. Had to cellar some tins but they won't last forever.

Exactly what it says it is
This is 100% a Virginia flake. Tastes of grassy hay, smells of fresh cut grass in the morning. If you’re not sure what a true Virginia tobacco tastes like, this is a must try. Don’t be afraid to try a single origin tobacco. Get this in your rotation.

A Basic in my tobacco closet
I try to always keep a supply of this around because I like to play around with my own experimental "blends," and I have found that my best efforts so far are with about 50% of Dunhill Flake and 50% of McClelland's Latakia for Blending. For me a terrific combination, and you can get it at TobaccoPipes.com. I must also write that I am not a professional blender, nor do I even have a reasonable facsimile of one's specialized vocabulary. But I do know when I enjoy a great tobacco and this one does it for me.
