Peterson Aran 15 Fishtail
This is a sweet smoker! Light and very comfortable in the mouth. I have just finished the break-in and I was pleasantly surprised that Peterson did not dip stain this pipe and it had a protective resin coating the bowl. I still removed most of it with an electric toothbrush and Everclear, but the resin greatly reduced the break-in time. I smoked five half-bowls and already had a nice cake started. The pipe handled the first full bowl like a champ. When breaking in a new pipe I load a normal pack in the pipe in normal rotation and then a half-bowl lightly packed in the new pipe. I begin with the new pipe closely monitoring the pipe's temperature. When it gets hot, and it will, I pause and smoke the other pipe until the new pipe is cool and then I relight and repeat. Currently this pipe is dedicated to Lane's Black Raspberry. My highest recommendation for this pipe.
