The 06 is a perfect example of what a straight billiard should be from the folks at Peterson pipes. The brown stain and larger-than-average nickel ring of the Aran series suit the shape well.

Peterson Aran
My experience with smoking pipes has been that it is the briar, not the brand. Peterson pipes have always been excellent smoking pipes. The pricing factor for briar and manufacture have obviously elected them to turn to pipe makers other than Ireland. The same goes for the briar. Spanish briar in my opinion is an inferior block as opposed to other pipe briar. While Peterson markets pipes of a lesser grade briar, their turning, fit and appearance still remain equal to their Dublin made pipes. They may be suitable for other pipe smokers but not fit for those who require a flavorful smoke from a quality briar pipe of which there are many in the Peterson line-up to choose from.
