Solid smoke
In the bag smells of leather and light berries. Tobacco is clearly good quality with springy ribbons not goopy at all like most aromatics. Lit easily and stayed lit nicely. After a few puffs I thought was rather bland with no berry champagne flavors detected. But I resigned myself to finish the bowl, since it was smooth, smoked dry, cool and stayed lit. After about half the bowl was gone I was absent mindedly puffing away and realized I was getting some really awesome flavor. Jeremy Reeves from C&D was talking about derringer having pastry notes from stoved virginias, and I thought BS! Sure enough I was tasting a good amount of pastry. Kind of doughy and sweet. And maybe it was just because I knew the description of french berries about this tobacco, but there were whisperings of berry a bit like a blueberry muffin! I don't know if there are stoved virginias in this blend but I taste pastry. So now that I have blown through my ounce my conclusion is I would order this again definitely. A simple light aromatic that smokes like a dream.
