Old Dominion Pipe Company is dedicated to selling only hand-crafted smoking pipes. The bowls are made from an heirloom Indian corn and White corn varietal seed. The Shenandoah is of simple design and akin to the corn cob pipes enjoyed in the 1890s. The bottom is plastered and the bowl is lacquered to ensure your pipe can be enjoyed for years to come. The bamboo shank/stem will fit lightly and gently as the pipe is filled with your favorite tobacco.

Excellent pipe

Simplicity
I love the look, I love the feel, what a fantastic little pipe! As the other reviewers have said, it is super little. Absolutely great for a quick break. The Reed grass stand is super comfortable and pleasant. Nothing bad to say about this.

Disappointed
After reading the reviews I was so excited to get this cob. I was very disappointed when it arrived. The bowl is so narrow I can’t even get my pinking down it. The draw is near none. Not sure if I just got a bad version or if this is how they are, but even after filling the bowl it maybe took me 5 mins to smoke the first bowl. Again, very disappointed.

Nice, compact pipe
This is the first pipe I've ever used. I love it. Compared to my father-in-law's briar pipe, it is much lighter, has a smaller bowl, and the straight stem is much easier to clean out with a bamboo skewer or stem of good straight timothy grass. I light using only wooden matches and smoke pretty quickly and after an initial break-in, this pipe seems to wear out very slowly. I like the bamboo stem because it is round and is very comfortable to place in between my canine tooth and the one behind it allowing me to talk and open my mouth with ease. I can even chop wood with this thing or row a boat. Really great little pipe. A stick or pipe tool is needed to pack it as my smallest finger will not fit inside the bowl.

Simply awesome
Love this pipe! Feels great in the hand, light enough to clench (not too hard, though), nice thick cob walls. The first few puffs tasted a bit woody, but that dissipated quickly - which is a hell of a short break-in. After one bowl, it already seems to be developing a bit of a cake - I know, some people don’t like that in cobs, but I do. Definitely, a fan will certainly buy another (maybe the Chesapeake) next time I’m looking for a new cob.

Perfect
Needed a cob that didn’t have a plastic mouthpiece, no issues at all!

Shenandoah
This is by far the best pipe offered by old dominion.
