Nording Compass Blue Tobacco Pipe

This unusual pipe (from a traditionalist perspective) has perhaps the best draw I've encountered in my 45 years of pipe smoking. I was pleasantly surprised. The briar sets as a sleeve in the metal jacket, and is of very good quality. The pipe is featherweight, easy on the teeth when held in the mouth, and is every inch a fine briar pipe. I have purchased a total of four, giving three to my pipe smoking sons, sourcing them variously to obtain my color choices.. It does not equal my 40-year-old hand-made Becker, but it is in among my first line of pipes. I recommend it without reservations.

I just received my compass. I love the blue, very cool looking. I am smoking my first bowl from it now (C&D bow legged bear) and I’m loving it. I had a small gurgle a few sips ago, but I slowed down and hasn’t happened since. The metal has not gotten close to hot. It feels great in mouth and hand. I put a softee bit on it and it feels like a comfy clencher. For 35 bucks, this is a great smoking pipe!

I love this pipe. The color really pops and makes it stands out. I get a lot of great comments on it. It's nice and light, so it's easy to clench, but still feels solid in my hand. It has a smaller bowl, so it's great for a shorter smoke. The stem doesn't always seem to fit snug against the bowl, so it may come loose on ya if you're not careful or you're handling it a lot. I don't mind it, but it's something to watch out for. All in all, a great little smoke. Probably explains why I have 3 of them (in different colors).

Very different, but I like it. Inexpensive enough and I don't feel like I need to worry about it much. Not sure I'd buy another one, but it's fun to have one of these...easy to find in the pipe rack!

Simple good smoker for a short smoke and affordable enough to have a few.
