    Mystery Solved

    Posted by B P on 8th Jun 2022

Found this as the #2 option on the first month of the Mystery Review "series". It was a nice way to find a new-to-me blend. I have enjoyed it quite a lot; enough to order a fair bit more...

Delicious. This is a non-complex straight VA. Not gonna knock your socks off, but a great all-day garage smoker.

I am a fan of strait virginia tobaccos and I must admit this is on the top of my list. Burned well right out of the bag sweet earthy aroma. Easily a steady smoke for me. Also fits perfectly in quart jars for cellaring. I will certainly be ordering more of this wonderful smoking tobacco!

    Good aging potential

Smoked with 9 months of age on it. Blended and packed March 2020. Has a pleasant room note. Needs drying time . Smokes cool and flavourful. Demands your attention to get hold of subtle flavour.

    NO. 400 SUPERIOR FLAKE

Posted by David L King on 15th Dec 2020

08 OCT, 2020 Can you say "BLUEBERRY MUFFINS" This is the note that I get from the baggie. It is a very sweet smell which includes Honey, bread dough and minimal spice. This seems like it will be a very light smoke. I am hoping the bread dough comes out in the smoke. One other item, I do not detect any grassy hay or citrus like odors and I do believe rum has been incorporated. This does smell very appealing and it is going to be a treat when I get to it which will be very soon. I fired up my Scott Hudson poker loaded with SNF. It is very gentle and smooth, tastes like a fresh slice of bread from the oven. This is delicious to say the least. This blend does get a little spicy around the first quarter of the bowl and maintains this spice till last puff. Not much of a NIC hit until you get to the end of the bowl and then watch out. Your head may be swimming. This is definitely a Virginia lover's tobacco. This is a damn good Virginia blend.

Have a little dry, if more wet will be perfect.

    Another Virginia Flake ??

Posted by The Budmiester on 15th Dec 2019

Yes, I guess it's just another in a long list of Virginia Flakes...but it's right up there at the top of the list. A mild, non-obtrusive, satisfying all day smoke for Virginia lovers. It has become my go-to-smoke every day. As an after thought, the price is right also.

Newminster 400 buy it while you can

Smells like honey and ages quite nicely even after only a year in the jar. Wonderful by itself and even better when mixed with some St James perique. Smooth smoke down to the ash, never bites Requires very little to no drying time.

    My favorite

    Posted by Silverone858 on 13th Dec 2018

I rub out enough for the day, about 3 flakes. Sometimes I add a pinch or 2 of Sutliff maple and rum. When I rub it out there's good chunks and some shake, it works out great chunks in the bottom and a little shake on top. Never burns hot. Taste bread and sweet citrus molasses.
