Perfect Tester or Starter
Purchased these for an upcoming event where I will be introducing some younger folks to the joys of pipe smoking. I use them from time the when I am trying out a new tobacco. Especially, those noted to ghost in the reviews.

Hard to beat
For the price, this is a great quick-smoking utensil. Packs easy, smokes great, so inexpensive you won’t cry if you lose it on a camping trip. This is my now the lawn, scoop dog poo, motorcycle adventure pipe. I just ordered a second one to make sure I had a backup.

MM Eaton
This is the 'rough' outside pipe, unlike the smoothed outside of the cob like the Pony Express, for example. This takes away from how well the pipe smokes nor how easily held or clenched it is because of the shortness of the pipe and the light weight of it. I've found in *my* experience, that the corncob pipes seem to smoke a tobacco in its more true taste, no matter how one has used it, say, with just one 'type' or 'blend' of tobacco for the past 6 months. If you smoked a black cavendish for 6 months and suddenly want to try a latakia based English, you're going to get the true flavor of the English and none of the cavendish from beforehand. Another great thing about this cob is the fact that if you drop it or sit on it or a kid gets a hold of it and does what kids do - break things easily - you're not out any real scratch! This pipe, along with the Pony Express, are my favorite two of the cobs for price and for using to smoke all day without worrying about burning up a pipe if all you have are two pipes in your whole collection. They smoke your tobacco beautifully, no matter how hot one smokes they are easy to hold, and putting one in a shirt pocket won't make that shirt suddenly sag down to your knees so that it being there isn't a PITA. No matter what though, this and the Pony Express both smoke wonderfully, hold quite a lot (I can make either of mine stuffed smoke for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour at one sitting...that is saying something!) or can hold as little as you'd like. No 'taste' of the cob if the cob itself is burning like one might get if it's a briar being smoked badly. These pipes are for the beginner to the smoker of decades...they smoke wonderfully and for the price having 6 of them in their own pipe stand you can't go wrong.
