Flavor
Great room note. Smooth smoke without tongue bite. Richly flavored. This will be in my tobacco collection at all times. I'm a very particular smoker. If I say 5 stars here, I say it because it's really good.

Smelled good when opened. Flavor did not seem deep but I seemed to pick more of it up by the 3rd or 4th bowl. Had some tongue bite. But not bad. Not overwhelming and not underwhelming. May try this again down the road to see if I get more from it.

Mac Baren 7 Seas Black Blend
I'm fairly new to pipe smoking and I even noticed how underwhelming and boring this blend is. No complexity or layers of flavor whatsoever. Upon opening the tin, it smelled more like black licorice, rather than any, chocolate, vanilla or amerretto. When smoked, it has a bite to the tongue and NO flavor. All you can taste is a bitter nutty Cavendish. I enjoyed the Royal blend much better, but still wouldn't even mess with the whole 7 Seas series altogether.

I wasn't just real impressed with the Mac Baren 7 Seas Black Blend. It had no tongue bite, so that was a plus, but there was not much flavor coming through.

I had high hopes but this was another Mac Baren let down. The initial smell was mouth-watering & wonderful, but the smoke was wholly underwhelming. I tried it wet, dry, half lit, burned to a crisp, hard puffed, slow smoked, tight packed, loose packed, in cheap cobs & expensive Savinellis yet no matter what I tried I couldn't get anything more than a tongue coating and a bite with about as much flavor as I'd expect from a bag of discount tobacco from a gas station.

I struck it rich in the seven seas when I found this treasure. Rich dark tobacco smokes great, smells great, tastes great!! What more can you say. Excellent product. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.☘
