Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Pipe Tobacco

I had placed my pies in a drawer for 30+ years, but decided to jump back in the pool. Forgotten what I used to smoke and decided on Scottish and Modern to start. Perhaps a bit bold on my part, but actually I have been enjoying both (outside). Neither were as harsh as I recalled from my earlier days, and do have a bite, but not overwhelming. The Nicotine hit is a bit hard, but nothing worse than a cigar. The Scottish is more on the robust side than Modern. What I remember my grandfather smoking. Don't believe I will light this indoors though.

This is what i think they call rubbed flakes it makes for a good strong flavor that is not overly sweet.

I'm brand new to pipe tobacco and found this one quite nice to start out on. Great flavor, room note and aftertaste. Found it pairs well with a morning coffee and a good drink. Note: Had to dry a little to get a better burn.

In my daily rotation nice and spicy.

I was worried about the comments on tongue bite so I rubbed out fully and dried for a couple hours light pack and put it to match. Kept draws slow and paced out a bit. Very easy smooth had a few relights but got sweet floral nutty flavors. Very enjoyable. I would buy again for sure. Slightly stronger than Original mixture.

You have to be gentle and coy with this one, but if you are you'll coax out a sweet, delicious smoke. I tried to rush it a few times and paid for it. I didn't notice it burning fast and hot, but it will harsh if you push it on the cadence.

Smooth, nice flavor, and not much of a tongue bite.

My favorite smoke. Usually I smoke natural Cavindish which a bit cheaper but when I want a nice Sunday afternoon smoke this is it.

Very good, a little sweeter than Virginia no 1. I liked it very much but I've always liked Mac Baren.
