Smooth and Flavorful
I hadn't tried this blend before but knew it was a popular one and found out why. This is an easy to light blend that will be popular with most pipe smokers who want something easy to have in the morning or all day. It has enough mix of flavors to be interesting but carries a relaxed smoke for the whole pipe.

Tobacco
Recommended for the beginning hobbyist, and I completely agree. It is mild as described without being bland.

I normally buy the 1 pound bags
This last bag burns very hot taste wise. It appears different form the product that I have been smoking for 60 years.

Golden Extra Bulk
Got 8 oz since this is a great everyday smoke. Came very dry so I had to rehydrate. I’m cellaring it for now. Overall this is a great smoke consistent in flavor. Does burn hot for me but may be from the Virginia that’s thrown in and my cadence. Otherwise I always recommend this blend!

MB Golden Extra
Great lighter burly blend, very enjoyable.

My most frequent smoke.
First started smoking this blend in 1969 as a college student in the Bronx. Sold for $2.95 for a 4 oz. tin then.

Burley goodness.
The burley dominates. The Virginia is a background influence. Good quality tobaccos used. A touch sweet, but not overly so, & I can detect the cocoa topping. Closer to medium strength than mild for me. Nic hit is mild. Moisture level is just right. Mine came as broken up strips of flake which is easy to pack. Needs a couple of false lights to get going so need to be careful not to get too hot. (To avoid this, I let rest for several minutes after the false lights before firing up again) I'm a burley lover who likes mild aromatics where I can taste the tobacco. This fits the bill very nicely. If you like burley & like lightly applied aromatics, you'll also really like Mac Barens Golden Extra.

satisfying smoke
I really like Golden Extra. Sweet, Soft, tasty. Ample nicotine. Moisture level is perfect. Really easy to smoke. I like to take a drive and burn this stuff with a little smooth Jazz. you just stuff it and spark it. no challenges. no surprises. Ok, Let's get weird. One of my first impressions was of a big underdone apple fritter. tear it open and sniff the dough ball in the center. fruity notes some lite spice and tons of bread dough. interesting, but easy. could be an all day every day.
