J. C. Double Pressed Creme
Normally I don't smoke Virginia"s, never cared for the 'grassy/hay' flavor they infuse. But I took a gamble on this one due to ratings but mostly the claimed results of the double pressing fermentation results - - and glad I did! I've been a pipe smoker for 51 years, not a connoisseur with fancy words so alloy me to give you this old man's opinion. I like aromatics, hate the tongue bite so they must be mild. John C.'s Double Pressed Creme's first impression is to take a curious nibble of the pressed cake. It smells that good and genuine. Pack it properly and it may take 3 lights to finish a bowl. Flavor is very lite and periodically can genuinely taste the vanilla creme just as it smells in the tin and that's rare. Room aroma is pleasant and doesn't deteriorate or deform into stale tobacco smell like so many others. No tongue bite, no harsh chemical aftertaste. Very, very easy on the palate, made to enjoy while relaxing without distraction of work concentration. My skepticism of this tobacco after half a tin has officially changed to "it's a keeper"! But that's just my opinion with 51 years of piping.
