Half And Half is an old tobacco, a part of American History. It was originally made by the American Tobacco Company in the 19th century. Also known as Burley and Bright tobacco, the formation of Half And Half formally took place in 1909 when ATC combined Lucky Strick tobacco with Buckingham tobacco.
Manufactured in Owensboro, Kentucky, this combination became the Half And Half tobacco that we know. It soon became one of the most popular tobaccos in the country, making American Tobacco the number two tobacco company in the United States by 1938.
One year later, in 1939, American Tobacco removed the Lucky Strike logo while continuing to sell the blend under the Half And Half name.
Production of Half And Half remained in Owensboro until 2011, when the manufacturing of the tobacco moved to Tucker, Georgia, under the leadership of the Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
