Genod Pipes traces its roots back to mid-1800s St. Claude, France, where the Comoy factory was built in what would be the epicenter of the pipe making material that would change pipe smoking forever—briar wood. Over the years, ownership of the factory changed, and in 1959, Jacques "Jacky" Craen, a talented pipemaker, established the Genod brand.
In 2006, Sebastien Beaud joined the factory, taking on the Viou brand and eventually all of Genod. Beaud continues to craft Genod pipes, maintaining a deep respect for the brand's storied tradition while carrying it into the future. He masterfully carves the classic shapes that Genod has delivered since well before we could call them "classic," while also taking on occasional playful liberties with his shaping.
