Jamaican Flake: Rich and Delicious
Over all this is 4.25/5.0 blend for me. Been hunting through various rum flakes the hunt for a "rum blend to rule them all!" I'm not sure that I've found that yet, but this is quite a rich and flavorful flake. The pressed burley and virginias make a dark brown flake that is fairly easy to rub out and smells of deep molasses rum, dark tobacco, dark fruits, and a little sweetness. Smoking it is rich and sweet rum and a layer of Nicaraguan cigar smoke. It is a maple and steam-pressed burley sidestream: that is to say thick and sweet. Definitely full flavored. The smokey maple and sweet rum stick around throughout most of the bowl with the rum fading, leaving just the richer rum notes. I catch a little tang of Virginia, but mostly the burley and then rich brown sugar Bottom line: this pushes into aromatic territory, but it's still a BurVa flake overall. Which is what I like. But it's sweetness and rich thick smoke packs a medium punch, but you'll want this when you're feeling like a richer tobacco. Is this the one rum? I'm do not know, but I can see myself enjoying this once a week, for sure - In place of a light aromatic when I want something more substantial. Nic hit is med. I recommend if you're trying to find rich rum, Molasses, maple or brown sugar flakes.

Christmas Cake
If you’ve ever eaten Christmas cake you’ll know how Rum Flake tastes. This is one of the great pipe blends meant to be sipped. A special treat for long, relaxed, contemplative sessions during cold weather – not that temperature stops me. Make sure to treat it lovingly, as otherwise you’ll sour the taste and spoil the bliss. If you must dry it, keep it moist! With at least a medium kick, this is truly a world class blend to be savored for its depth. Excellence in a bowl. Go for it!

GAWITH HOGGARTH & CO RUM FLAKE PIPE TOBACCO
I have only smoked two bowls but I do not regret my purchase. It smells of molasses, not rum. It tastes good and burns cool..It does smell good according to people around the campfire. I would purchase it again.

Good quality; light aromatic
Good quality tobacco for sure. Smoked well. But if you’re looking for a strong flavored aromatic, this isn’t it. The rum is super subtle.

Gawith Hoggarth Rum Flake
Beautiful long flakes composed of Virginias and Burley. This is a relatively stronger blend with a great tobacco taste and various sweet and spicy flavorings. The toasty, substantial tobaccos win out over the rum and maple as one proceeds down the bowl. Will not bite or become bitter. Will not smoke hot. Moderate nic hit. Dry it a bit before loading the pipe. Smoke as a broken flake for a slow smoke or fold and stuff for a slower smoke. One of my all-time favorites.
