Not what I expected.
Very good tobacco that burns smooth and even. I missed where it said was a shag cut. Not something I would normally purchase. Besides the cut. I enjoy it very much.

The Sherlock Holmes tobacco
Sherlock Holmes smoked a variety of tobaccos but when he had a hard problem, he reached for a cheap strong black shag that he kept in a silk slipper nailed to the fireplace. This is the closest we get these days to that blend, and it is full power but incredibly easy to smoke. Stuff in the shag until it heaps over the edge of the pipe, then thumb-tamp and light. That is is. Sweet Virginia flavor with a smoky edge will accompany you for a few hours of delightfully low-complexity smoking.

GH Dark Birds Eye
A good full flavored smoke. Burns well right out of the 500 gm pouch. However, for me, this is a substitute until Coniston Cut Plus and Brown Twist Sliced are back in stock.
