The G.L. Pease Triple Play is a special blend that may take some getting used to for new smokers. GL Pease Triple Play

Posted by Gene DiNardo on 20th Feb 2021

Popped the can, was immediately greeted by the smells of a freshly cleaned stable...the sweet straw, grass , hay of the Virginias....the musty , plummy , old barn wood of the Perique...the leathery , toasty , barbeque of the Dark Fired. It was wonderful. From first light The sweet , piquant , stewed fruit grew deeper and richer throughout the bowl. Needless to say, this vaper will occupy my tobacco bar for as long as it is available. Age when smoked : day of purchase. Pipe used : Molina Tankard Poker.

    Good block Tobacco

Yes, I can feel the very much presence of Kentucky and that is also very nutty in characteristic. Wait I'm through half the bowl and I can feel the sweetness of Virginias but still with nuttiness which I always get in plug Tobacco and that toast feeling I think due to baking and hard pressing to achieve that cake or block form which was still moist and juicy fruity smelling but smokeable right out of the tin.

I bought this at the request of My Tobacconist due to the handful years of age on the Tin. The tin was Pooched Out and you could just tell something magical was going on in there, well He was spot on in his Intel. I opened the tin immediately and the Aroma was NOTW, a Smokey Sweet slightly Tangy aroma rushed out and filled the air. The Red Virginias had been morphed into a Deep Mahogany color with ribbons of Dark Kentucky and Perique in contrast. The flavor profile was Quiet different due to the age of the tin so I would not expect this to be the norm with a fresh can of this tobacco FYI. I experienced a truly wonderful smoke with this tobacco after a good days rest, the flavors were so well melded together it was exceptional. The flavor profile is lightly Smokey throughout form the Kentucky with a Subtle Sweetness from the Red Virginias and the Perique has a mildly tangy note to it, all together it will be in my rotation as a weekly treat. This tobacco has a little Nic Kick to it and due to the Full Flavor profile I would not use a Small Pipe when first smoking this blend FYI.
