The dark, powerful, and refined flavor of Spark Plug mirrors the classic roadsters that inspired this blend. Smoky Latakia, rich Orientals, and fine Virginia's are perfectly balanced to create a complex and daring flavor.

Packs a punch
Upon opening the tin I was not impressed with what smelled like a dirty cigarette ashtray. Like the tobacco had already been smoked. However after letting the tin sit for a couple weeks with opening the lid here and there, the smell improved to a much better state. Now smelling strong but more like tobacco than ash. Fairly moist in the tin, I left it on the tray for some time before packing. Once packed it lit without much effort but I did find myself re-lighting a lot. This might also be due to not puffing on this blend nearly as hard as more gentle tobaccos. Spark Plug packs a punch and produces billowing clouds of smoke. You won't be huffing on this like your codger blend aromatic. The room note is fairly terrible to non-smokers. Much more like a cigar than candy scented aromatics. Deep into the bowl more subtle flavors reveal themselves. Gone is the sour hint of vinegar and the tannin of a dry wine comes forth. There is a hint of new leather and just a bit of damp earth. There is always still a hint of that cigarette flavor though, which I am not a fan of. Overall a smoke I think doesn't try to appeal to everyone. You are either going to be on board with this blend or not- it doesn't leave much fence to sit on.

Spark Plug
First, English and Balkan blends are not a big part of my annual tobacco rotation. I only indulge in them in the cooler months which means that here in the Southeast US of A, it's only about 2 or 3 months out of the year. Second, it's my opinion that the component leaf in American tobaccos is not quite the quality found in blends from Germany, England and Scandinavia. Having said that, it is my opinion that, of the American blenders, GL Pease is the best. Spark Plug is a pleasant smoke. At the front end it starts out spicey (I guess from the Orientals) and finishes with the smokey Latakia; the VA gives it a smoothness that enhances the others. There's no bite and is very mellow yet flavorful. My only complaint is that I have problems keeping it lit. That could be because, having never tried a plug tobacco, I may not have it "cut up" properly (I damn near ruined my best kitchen knife in the process). For those who are familiar with plugs and know how to handle them, and if one likes English blends, this is a good one to try. It pairs extremely well with a peaty Scotch, a small batch bourbon or an American, hoppy IPA.

great blend
I found this blend to be very good. the plug is firm and cuts well. I found bloom on the plug indicating it has been aged for some time. (bloom comes from nicotine crystals seeping out of the leaves over time). The flavor captivated me from the first bowl. leather, peanut, other savory flavors I have no words to describe!. It is as if I was wandering the grandstands at the 1968 LeMans eating peanuts and smelling the atmosphere around me. Lovely blend and has a permanent place in my vault. I recommend this blend for any Enthusiast who wants to try delicious plug tobacco!

This is otherwise a five star product however, the first tin that I opened revealed some mold on the outer "skin" of the tobacco
The taste is as I remembered however having to lose out on some of the tobacco is a bit off-putting, the flavor does the job for the palette and cessates the cravings for cigars or cigarettes. Be Weary of Cellaring
4 of my last 10 tins had the beginnings of mold growth. The dates ranged from 10/2020 to 02/2021 and from different retailers. Great stuff, like cheddar; scrape off the mold, slice & enjoy!

Spark PLug
Great, need to cut the next tin a little finer and let it "breath" a little longer. But I have MORE than high hopes for this going forward.

Sensationa
An absolute stunner of a blend and my current favorite latakia blend, It is certainly a full, heady and exotic Balkan style with a wonderful mixture of zesty, sweet, musty and smoky flavors, An easy recommendation for beginners and veterans both!
