Great nic buzz, not my favorite flavor out of all the ones I’ve tried, but not at any fault of the tobacco.
If you love Smokey, leathery (slightly nutty maybe?) tobacco, then this is for you. Absolutely nothing sub par about this smoke. The six pence from this brand is more the type of flavor that piques my interest, but this tobacco is quality and as fine an example of a pipe smoking experience as any. My favorite part of the bowl, for this one, is right in the middle, where I can pike up a sort of floral, sweeter note, for a few hits. But the bowl is good from start to finish, it just always leaves me feeling like I missed something about the flavor. In that aspect it’s actually something that I want to smoke again every time I think about it, because I can’t quite remember the sensation it produces on the tongue. I can remember that floral note I get in the middle clearest. But the, smokey, slightly sorta nutty, light is almost a bit enigmatic to me. I think I have a hard time relating what my friends describe as leathery flavor to the smell of leather, because I haven’t smelled real leather in so long. If you have experience with pipe smoking (and the smell of leather), you probably won’t find that flavor so mysterious, but for me this tobacco is one that always leaves me with a question mark at the end of the bowl that invites another. That comes along with a pleasantly noticeable buzz, too, as someone that regularly vapes high strength liquid out of a box mod. My absolute favorite that I’ve tried is the nightcap by Peterson, because I can taste the piney, woody flavor so easily. But this is more of an investigative experience for me every time. While that sort of does leave an unsastifyingly unanswered feeling to the finish of a bowl, it keeps me coming back to this perfectly moist, flavorful, pleasantly nicotine rich tobacco. 5 stars, but not my go to for when I want an easily placeable pleasure, like the fruitiness of the six pence, or the pineyness of the nightcap - but because of that unfinished question (and lovely buzz), it’s at the top of my buy again list.

Strong but mellow
Full flavored but sweet. Has a nice Smokey goodness and a natural Virginia sweetness. Packs some nicotine, so beware if you’re sensitive. I mix it with some Quiet nights occasionally for something different.

Smokey and strong
This blend is pretty tasty. It has a nice BBQ Smokey side balanced out with some sweetness. Definitely has a good amount of nicotine in it. I keep having to check myself when smoking it. Problem is it tastes so good! Lol! Maybe I’ll build up a tolerance. I even tried mixing some with SG Balkan flake and that was fantastic.

You can really feel the cajun spice when smoking It's delicious. Will order again.

Praise and caution.
Extreme, pungent, full-flavor. If you like Kentucky leaf and red Virginia, this will deliver a solid punch to your senses. It is very high in Vitamin N, too.

Jack Knife Plug Ready Rubbed
The Ready Rubbed version has excellent Burley-based flavor.

DFK + VA Winner
This is quite an amazing blend. If you are a lover of DFK blends as I am, you will really love this one. The blend of sweet Virginias along with a generous mix of Dark-Fired Kentucky creates a unique flavor profile. Each blend complimenting the other. I have tried both the plug and the ready-rubbed and have found no discernible difference. If you like the ritual that goes along with a plug, buy the plug version or if you prefer the ease of use of the ready rubbed, buy the ready rubbed version. You will not be disappointed in either. This is strong tobacco with a full flavor profile, terrific room note and a medium to high nic hit. Fantastic blend overall that I keep coming back to.
