A Workhorse of a Pipe
I purchased this along with a Meerschaum lined bowl. That combo provides for regular use without having to wait for the pipe to rest. I like the dental bit as it allows me to have leverage on the mouthpiece which I prefer. I deducted 1 star because it isn't quite the same as holding a hand made briar, but it functions as well or better.

Comfortabel
I have a straight bit falcon stem and this dental bit and like this one more. I put rubber bit covers on all my pipes. With one of those on one of these I'm digging it.

Wow.
I really like the Dental bit. All my other pipes stems are the usual kind: vulcanite or acrylic, mostly fishtail. I use the BJ Long rubber bits on some but not others. The bit on this stem is a stroke of genius. I hope the cat who came up with it got a good Xmas bonus that year. I love that the brown in the tube is different from the brown in the rest of it. Is that the brown that's in the twisted colored stem? My smooth Snifter, Hunter Bulldog and WGM meerschaum bowls all look great with this stem. This would be a good stem for walking with one's hands firmly embedded in coat pockets.
