Dr. Grabow Omega Smooth Tobacco Pipe

My first pipe no complaints

I bought this pipe 5 or 6 years ago when I could not find a pipe to smoke (we just moved). I never owned a Dr. Graybow or similar brand before. When the pipe arrived I was quite pleased with its quality. I filled it with some Capt. Black and enjoyed a fine smoke. I also read review where a reviewer stated the inside is stained, no, not stained. These pipes are pre burnt so they can be smoked right from the pipe without the usual break-in. As far as the draw, like any pipe -- pack it tight and the draw will be difficult. Pack it properly and the draw is fine and the smoke enjoyable. I never smoked a filtered pipe before this one. I did not find the filter to interfere with the draw. Lately I have been smoking other tobaccos and find they all smoke nicely in this not too small or not too large of a pipe. The military style bit makes holding it in my mouth a pleasant experience, especially when I am working on a project, fishing, or gardening.

Not bad. Small bowl, gets hot quickly. The silver band separated from the pipe. I was able to fix it. I've gotten a different one since, I'll hang on to this for camping trips.

This was one of the first pipes that I ever owned. Got it about 20 years ago and it is still going strong. It's been with me on dozens of camping/hunting/fishing trips over the years. Not the most impressive pipes that I have owned, but for the price, it offers a decent smoke and looks fairly nice to boot. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the world of pipe smoking and who wants to start with a briar instead of a cob.

Ok pipe for a short smoke. Small bowl. Good looks but a little pricey for what you get.

I am not a pipe snob. So far nothing over 60$. The pull sucks. Even after removing the filter, which was one of the reasons I bought it. A little better filterless. The bit makes clenching doable but somewhat uncomfortable. The weight is great but the bit sucks. It looks and feels cheap as hell. The smoke hole in your mouth, burt the heck out the my mouth for over a week now. Partially because I had to chug to keep it lit. Much better cheaper pipes to buy.

I have had problems with straight tenon's and ordered the omega for the military mount style stem, this pipe proved to be much more than the price. smooth/cool/great clench/ remove the filter and you have a U.S. version of the (Peterson system) I liked it so well, a week later I ordered the rustic.

I have many pipes of brand name. But I'll tell you, Dr Grabow - the Omega is an excellent smoking pipe. It is my favorite smoker, I have 4 of them.

This is my first brand name pipe. The draw is smooth and mild. An excellent smoking pipe.
