Dr. Grabow Freehand Rustic Tobacco Pipe
Ordered this pipe from Tobaccopipes.com and received it promptly. It smoked a little hot the first two bowls during break-in I believe, but now it smokes very well. The pipe is a great pipe for its price range and looks great in its rustic form. I haven't had a problem with moisture gurgling at all, which as a new pipe smoker I think is a plus for me. I use balsa wood filters though, not a paper one like was included in the pipe. I recommend this as a good low-end pipe for the collection.

Dr. Grabow Rusticated Freehand
I bought this pipe because it was inexpensive, and I wanted to smoke an aromatic blend in it. I'm always afraid of ghosting my pipes - so I get picky about what blend goes in what pipe. When I got the pipe I tossed the filter and sanded the aluminum tenon to make it easier to get the pipe apart, it was too tight for me. I tried a heavy aro in it, and the pipe would get a little hot spot now and then. As quickly as the hot spot appeared, it went away. The walls of this pipe may seem thin, but it really gets rid of the heat well. I think the rustication may work like the fins on the head of a motorcycle engine. I have tried 3 blends in this pipe and they all smoked really well, especially the burleys. It has a deep chamber. The more I smoke the pipe, the better it smokes. For the best smoke, it needs to rest for a couple of hours with a good brushing with a pipe cleaner. I have been smoking it every day. If it gurgles, I turn it upside down and gently knock the tip of the mouthpiece against my Jean's to get the water out, then keep on smoking. At night I clean the pipe with a little brandy on the pipe cleaner. In the morning its a brand new pipe. The pipe is darkening as I keep smoking it day after day. This pipe is a trooper. The first time I smoked this pipe, when I was done, I stuck it in my jacket pocket. It was natural, I don't do that with my other pipes. The other reviews for this pipe are good reviews. It's seasoning up to be a really wonderful smoker and a constant companion.
