Return to Virginias
Well folks I will start off that this review rating is based on my memory of McQuellands Virginia blends. Shelbyton ribbon is easy to pack and came in a 1 oz baggy almost perfect moisture. Initial light is underwhelming and if you have a shallow bowl the smoke ends too soon to get any flavors other than the grassy new Virginia flavor. My guess this is a lightly stoved yellow Virginia which needs a deeper bowl to bring the slightly sweet Virginia flavor. Overall this evolves nicely and has just a little bit of a nicotine hit. I believe this will blend nicely with some Perique or Latakia. In addition, a little age might bring this Virigina along well.
