    C&D Pirate Kake

Hearth and Home 10 to Midnight was out of stock, so I decided to give Pirate Kake a try. I am very glad I did. It is more expensive, by about $15-20 a pound, but worth it. If you have tried and liked 10 to Midnight, you will love Pirate Kake. I cannot imagine a more mellow Latakia dominated blend. Highly recommended. A hack I do with cake when loading the bowl is use a good ribbon cut as the first pinch. I use English Oriental very lightly packed. Then load intact chunks of cake and surround the chunks with the crumbles and powder. Works well.

    It’s my jam

This became my favorite pipe tobacco blend halfway through my first bowl. Musky Latakia and Turkish with some burley…it’s good. Burns well, I like to dry it a bit but it’s okay not, just a little more moisture in the bowl than I’d generally like. This is also the most dense cake I’ve come across. I usually cut it like I would a plug. It’s over 70% Latakia, so if you’re not into Latakia, this probably isn’t the blend for you.

Mild and fragrant, an exceptional tobacco. Lataika bomb. I expect to re-order this regularly.

    Good tobacco

This blend has a lot of charm. Well blended, the plug/kake smells delicious and rubs out well. The Latakia is good and the other tobaccos play well with it. Power level is about two ticks below medium so those Enthusiast who like a bit more power will need to enjoy this as a snack. I think the blend meets the goal of a fine tobacco that is easy for most to enjoy. Can be enjoyed all day Recommend for all Enthusiasts and most all newcomers looking to expand their horizons.

Ummm... YES! I LOVE THIS BLEND! I am a huge English fan and I have smoked most of the unicorns. I only mention that to put my review into perspective. This stuff is amazing! A lot has already been said about it and everything that was said in favor of it is true. But, its also just fun. if that makes sense. This lat balm is in a very nice kake, has amazing flavor and depth, and has smart branding to boot. I will keep this in my rotation and continue to cellar as I go. Love it! Cheers!
