A light-hearted dance of whisky and hazelnut flavoring join together in Cornell & Diehl's Nutty Irishman. This Burley tobacco isn't full of complexity, but it is a perfectly pleasing Aromatic for a dessert smoke with a glass of hazelnut liquor for sipping on the side.

    tobacco

Great smoke! It is a standard for me. One of my all time favorites. It is a simple smoke but is clean, light and yet rich all at once. Room note I'd say is a 4, taste 5, strength 4, out of 5. I smoke many different tobaccos but this is the only one that is a constant for me, I always keep it on hand.

    Taste and pack

The taste of the tobacco is nice and smooth with a lingering toasty flavor the draw was best with a loose pack very moist tobacco the room note was a bit sharper than advertised but still pleasent

    Mild Aromatic

The tin note carries a strong note of the Irish Mist alcohol along with more subtle earthy and chocolate notes. In the tin the tobacco had a great moisture content requiring zero time on the tray- straight from tin to packing. The room note is pleasant to non-smokers. I found this blend didn't produce large clouds of smoke which helps tame the room note to non-smokers. On the tongue the blend is nutty, rich, and surprisingly mellow on the topping flavor. Honey is the standout but those herbal hints get to perform in the background. Lighting was easy and required few relights. Packs well and burned perfectly requiring very little tamping along the way. I did notice some gurgling late in the bowl but it was not a mess like some other aromatics from C&D. Deep into the bowl after the topping is largely gone the tobacco itself stands on it's own with a quality blend. It may be a bit 'generic' as aromatics tend to share Virginia, Burley, and Cavendish as a base mixture. But it delivers a tasty smoke that finished a pipe on a high note.

I did enjoy this blend allot. I cannot smoke a ton of it at a time, it is very rich. But a very enjoyable smoke

I'm brand new to pipe smoking and I chose this as one of my first tobacco choices. Very pleased...Smooth smoke, pleasant note. Did have some bite, but maybe I need to let it dry a bit.

    Great Flavor!!!

Well, I've been smoking a pipe now for about six years. I mainly smoke Virginia, English and Dark Fired. I recently started trying aromatics (real aromatics), not the drugstore junk. Autumn Evening was my first experience, and it was soooo good that I had to try Nutty Irishman. Another epic aromatic from C&D!! The tin note is Butterscotch Candy and Hazelnut, with a small whiff of liquor. The taste is just the same, but not overly done. Halfway through the bowl, the whiskey starts to come through a little. The smoke is smooth as butter with absolutely no bite. A great cup of coffee blend, like Autumn Evening. The tin I got is only four months old and it still packs the flavor. I can imagine how much better it will be after a year or so.

C&D Nutty Irishman has a sweet whiskey flavor that pleases the palate. There is no tongue bite what so ever. The sweetness is not overpowering, it is subtle in its presentation. The whiskey flavoring is likewise layered in and not overpowering. A very good smoke from start to finish.

Of the tobaccos I’ve gotten so far this is my favorite. Good flavor and only slight tongue burn if smoked slightly damp. When dried fully it’s great and no burn. One that I will keep in my arsenal of tobacco for sure.
