Another Naval-themed blend, Cornell & Diehl Black Frigate is a seriously strong Krumble Kake with Black Cavendish, Oriental and Latakia all pressed together to give the smoker a one-two-hit of nicotine and rum-filled smokiness.

Best with a Brandy
The combination of the Rum and Latakia is incredible on the tongue. When you add the Turkish on top of it all you have a tobacco blend at another level. The taste is lasting too. It lingers long after the embers have gone out and works tremendously with a sipped Brandy or Cognac. I smoke this like I drink 20 year old whiskey: Slowly and Infrequently. So much better when you keep the moments rare.....

Excellent English Crumble Cake, one of my favorites

Excellent early evening blend
I find this blend to be perfect for my first after-dinner smoke of the evening. The balance of the tobaccos is spot on - the smokiness of the Latakia is most forward, but there is a Virginia brightness underneath that. The rum flavoring is subtle, present but not overstated as is the case with some flavored blends. I like to start my evening rotation with this, afterwards move on to something with Perique for a bolder smoking experience, then for my last smoke I like Peterson Nightcap. This would make a nice afternoon/late afternoon smoke also. I have come to respect C&D as one of the top shelf tobacconists, and this blend definitely belongs in that category.

Smashing Navy Blend
Simply smashing navy blend! Taste history in every wonderful puff, but not too fast. This one tends to burn a touch hot in my classic Liverpool. Love it, my boy. Love it.

Black Frigate
Awesome. Wish I could find a way to get my own slab instead of the 2oz blocks

Great blend
I am currently enjoying a bowl of this fine blend as I write this post. The rum is distinct and pleasant to cold draw for a while before lighting. After a number of charring lights it settles down to a rich flavorful blend that has plenty to keep your attention yet is smooth and satisfying. This blend is both outrageous and delightful which is due to the great quality C&D seems to be able to provide tin after tin. They really are one of my favorite tobacco houses. Highly recommend to all Enthusiasts and newcomers wanting to try an excellent rum based blend.

Nautical nostalgia
I like this one a lot more than I thought I would. This one has quite a strong rum flavor that I can't taste the latakia that is supposedly there. But the tobacco blend is very rich and strong and gradually balances out the rum. Not for everyone, I think, but the right smoker will love this. Burns slow, cool and long.

Serendipity
This sounds like an odd combination of tobaccos, but they blend amazingly well. No one component stands out, but it's a strong, smooth and pleasant blend. Just a slight rum aroma. It makes me want a pint of grog to accompany this wonderful smoke.
