The latest installment of the Cornell & Diehl Cellar series, Bijou, was released at the 2016 Chicago pipe and tobacciana show where it instantly shot into popularity. This tobacco is made primarily of red Virginias from eastern North Carolina but it also contains a noticeable spritzing of Katerini. The tobacco has been flavored with honey, which really comes through after a few years of aging. This tobacco hits the "butter zone" of flavor after 10-15 years of age.

    Burnt Toast & Honey

Posted by Unknown on 20th Aug 2024

I enjoyed the honey topping but the underlying tobacco reminds me of burnt toast. Toward the latter half of the smoke it adds something peppery. For me was rather mismatched, and I dont think Id like burnt toast in much of anytbing.

If Tobacco Was Your Favorite Politician

It gets the job done, and the honey topping is nice. Tin note is fantastic, one of the best! But the smoke doesn't live up to it.

Great intro to Virginia tobacco. No tongue bite. Easy draw.

    Bijou

I was looking for a popular vaper. I watch the review on smokingpipes.com and Shane was very intrigued and fairly addicted to this one. I understand it gets better with cellaring. I found it a little spicy but I love the cut because of its slow burn. I’ll have to see how it goes.

    C&D Bijou

Very nice Virginia based blend. As the name infers, you get a fair amount of Katerini in this. The honey casing is barely noticeable. Get a few tins and let them rest for a few year (ten, perhaps?). It'll be well worth the wait.

Burns well, not much aroma, a real tongue biter.

    Amazing Virginias

I love Cornell and Diehl Red Virginia, so much that I buy their red ribbon by the pound. This Gem of a blend is amazing using the aged version of their reds.
