Ever since I began smoking a pipe years ago, my tastes have run to flake and plug tobaccos. Richer, deeper, and with greater complexity, I really enjoy the delicious sensory overload provided by a good, flavor-filled flake or by a resinous, plummy plug tobacco. This Cobblestone Brick Kentucky Plug tobacco represents the essence of what I love about plugs. Yes, it's described as a cake, which is what it resembles. But it has the smooth, resinous fullness of flavor of some of the finest plugs that I've sampled. Strength is a bit above medium, flavor is best described as medium yet richly dark (my favorite flavor profile), tin note is rich, slightly smoky and with chocolate, plum and chocolate notes. This Kentucky dark fired and Virginia blend smokes cool and dry. The cake is easily crumbled or cut, and it packs well. There are obvious comparisons to HH Old Dark Fired. However, Brick Kentucky Plug strikes me as less earthy, and a bit more elegant and smooth in flavor. Needless to say, if you like HH Old Dark Fired, you will probably appreciate some of the similarities between the two, while thoroughly enjoying the differences. Cobblestone Brick Kentucky Plug is definitely worth checking out.

This is a really nice blend. The flavors are full while being very smooth. Power is a bit above medium. Highly recommend to the seasoned Enthusiast, and newcomers looking for a delightful flavor packed tobacco.
