Captain Earle’s Mystic blend is named for his birthplace, Mystic Seaport, Connecticut. However, we can’t help but wonder if this pipe tobacco is so named because of the blend’s complexity. Nine different tobaccos come together in perfect harmony, making this mild English blend a surprising and highly complex favorite.

So nice
This is my second Captain Earle offering. I gave "Ten Russians" 5 stars, but this Mystic blend is better. Both of these come in damp blocks, which is fine but it keeps me from using them on the spur of the moment. It will train me to plan ahead, so that's helpful.

Received quickly in good condition
Rich and smooth flavor, manly

tobacco
Terrible----It was bitter, it was harsh with absolutely no aroma. I just threw it out

Very good
I tried one bowl from the tin about a year ago. Put it away. I got it back out and tried it couple weeks ago. I have finished the tin. I really enjoyed it. It is now one of my favorites. I had to purchase more for now and to save for later.

Solid English mixture
Smoother than other English blends I've had, and a pleasant sweetness. I wasn't floored by the quality, but it was definitely enjoyable.
