BJLong Soft Live Rubber Pipe Bits

I protect all my pipes with one of these rubber bits. Vulcanite is softer and can get toothmarks easily so a rubber bit is perfect for protection. Acrylic stems are hard and I use the rubber bits to protect my teeth. I find cheap rubber easy to bite through so these are better for that problem. Some of my pipes have big fishtail stems and the rubber bit can add size on top of the already large bit. I do have one 1950s era dunhill with a very slender stem and button and I put two on that pipe. One reversed which is first then one normal that fits over the first. That pipe is so slender that the extra size actually helps when clenched. So to recap; Use these rubber bits on all your pipes!

These pipe bits work well. It makes smoking most pipes much more comfortable in the lips and teeth (when clenching pipe).

Takes a bit of fiddling to install, but functions perfectly. Highest recommendation.

They do the trick but they are a firmer rubber than many I have used before. They are kind of bitter initially. I found rubbing them down with a little ever clear and letting them dry before installing helped with that bitterness.

Couldn't use on pipe I bought them for because they were too large.

They work well, make it easier and more comfortable to clench and also keep teeth marks off your stem. The only drawback is they do make the bit a little bit bigger, not by much but still bigger which is a bit annoying but still worth it to have on the pipe

Very good for pipe smokers with partial dental work.
