Peterson Irish Flake Pipe Tobacco

As the tin literature states, this blend is for the experienced pipe smoker. Not just because of the high nicotine content, but because of the preparation involved to get the most out of the tobacco. This smokes best when rubbed out and allowed to dry for at least half an hour. But you will be rewarded with a rich natural nutty and sweet flavor, dark and creamy. Each sheet of the flake is cut to the perfect size for a bowl full. It burns very slowly and requires minimal relights depending upon your cadence. Be warned though, the nic hit on this is intense. If you like natural flavored tobacco, you’ll surely like this wonderful blend.

Peterson Irish flake is my go to everyday pipe tobacco. I enjoy the complexity of this blend, as well as the very good taste of the blend. The room note is awesome, though the tobacco is very strong not too bad once you get used to it. The tin note is awesome as well. I definitely recommend.

This tobacco is wonderful for morning coffee. Very strong, flavorful and rich. I find it is best to rub out the whole can and let it sit for a few days because it is quite wet. Even after rubbing out, you'll need to dry out for 15 minutes prior to packing a bowl. The three step method doesn't work with flakes (in my experience) so it is best to grab a pinch big enough to stuff the whole bowl in one shot. Takes more than an average number of relights to keep going but it is totally worth it. Excellent tobacco for someone that enjoys a strong blend.

I found this tobacco to be a tongue-biter.

I have to concur that the tin note of alittle off putting. But after having a few bowls of it. I find it to be extremely tasty and definitely love the full body taste of it. I'm definitely one im going to stock up on!
